Ship-In Swimming for Horses

We accept "ship and go" horses for our swimming program. Shipping horses in to swim at our facility from either a race track or their home farm is refreshing to their minds and bodies while providing concusion-free exercise and conditioning. Swimming allows your horses to use muscles they would not normally use, while opening their lungs for maximum conditioning and alternative training.

Each horse entering our facility is fitted with a proper harness and secured ropes with four handlers. Your horse will be taught by one of our veteran horses by watching our veterans swim in front of them, thus allowing a controlled and relaxing environment. Horses gain a sense of confidence in the water and in time become stronger muscular while opening their lungs. More oxygen throughout the body means more energy in your horses muscular system, thus allowing more performance!

Each session includes:

  • Assessing the fitness of your horse while creating their own customized program
  • Protective boots and wraps on front and hind legs
  • Teaching water fitness and conditioning while building time in the water
  • Full bathing
  • Use of hot walker or handwalking and grazing
  • Assistance loading and unloading from trailer
